Wendy + Robert

Robert carefully tightened his tie and nervously avoided making eye contact with the back door where Wendy was waiting. After a few giddy seconds the glass door swung open and she quietly swayed onto the scene, bouquet in hand. "You can look now," someone said, and quickly, he turned and his eyebrows raised in that only spellbound way that makes a girl feel like she looks like a million bucks. And she did. ...

... Family and friends gathered for the ring ceremony under the shade of a broad, beautiful tree and a violin hummed out "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" as the bride and her father walked down the velvet green grass-carpeted aisle. This ceremony was for them, for the family, and for the friends to celebrate the journey and union of friendship, love and companionship Wendy and Robert had pledged to each other. Robert read a tenderly crafted vow to Wendy and eyes were sparkling throughout the gathering as a soft breeze blew at the airy folds of the bride's dress. The rings were exchanged with excited glances and ecstatic grins. "Husband and Wife," they said. ...

The glowing couple and their bridal party made their way across the yard, through the streets and up the steps to the southern historic charm of Main Hall at Southern Virginia University for some fun and whimsical family and bridal party portraits. Waving bouquets in the air, photobombing themselves and ultimately just kidding around and having a great time, the party soon simmered down to two. Finally enveloped in their moment, they were all eyes for each other, swept up in the magic of this crazy little thing called love.

Back at the church, the party was continuing as the reception began, scattered with the delicate softness of baby's breath, Queen Anne's lace, and personalized treats made for a beautiful spring wedding day. Savoring the sweet cheesecake bites and oreo cake balls, the music began to play as the bride and groom took their first dance together in the intimate hall. But the tears really began to flow as a mother congratulated her son in a sweet mother-son dance and the bride and her father embraced.

But like Wendy and Robert had already shown so much in their relationship, love and wedding day, laughter would always continue in their saga and cake began to mischievously splatter across the couple's faces as they dived into the sumptuously detailed cake. And as the tables were put away, the couple exchanged another cake-sweetened kiss as they bid their loved ones goodnight.
