Cori's Classy Culinary Graduation!

Growing up, my siblings and I always knew we would attend higher education programs, but like all students we sometimes struggled to decide what we would study or what we wanted to do professionally. Cori's graduation celebrates her completion of one road to self-discovery as a culinary artist.

In high school, I was intent on getting an English degree (which ended up in music), and my brother started college basically knowing he would become an engineer like our dad. But Cori didn't like math enough to want to become an engineer, she wasn't keen on writing, and history and science didn't really fit either. Luckily, our high school had a great arts program (woot woot the arts!) that included culinary and home economics classes.

My parents had always made baking a family event--cinnamon roll rolling, Christmas cookie cutting, birthday cake decorating, double delicious bar breaking, brownie bowl-licking...you get the gist. Dad and Cori took a legit cake decorating class together and we ate the life out of frosting flowers and fondant from their efforts. Chopped was on if Ace of Cakes wasn't and it's a good thing too since Cori's finals at Utah Valley University's Culinary Arts Program were baskets of random foods and a few hours to bring it to delicious fruition (which is the whole point of Chopped if you really haven't binge-watched it on Netflix yet).

Cori knew how to make more food than I did when I left home, and she's out-chefed me ever since (only now she even has the scars, burns and chicken masala to prove it). Today, she's donning her togue and taste-testing life after college and the Gus-gus fambam couldn't be prouder of you, Chef Cori!

P.S. I'm glad your culinary proficiency, height and Mike Wazowski-level fame is now preserved forever! :D
