Anna, or "A-Tay" as some people call her, is known for her acting range, her "goofums" and original faces and phrases. Now 19, serving an 18 month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the LDS or "Mormon" church) has been her goal since she was almost 17 years old, and she begins tomorrow to serve the people in Provo, UT. During this period of time, she will be sharing a message of faith with complete strangers and won't have normal access to family and friends (2 calls a year! for only an hour!) through social media, phone calls, video calls or messenger. In essence, her life has been put on hold to provide service. And yet, she has literally been counting down the days since the age was lowered for women of her faith to serve a mission (from 21 to 19).
But she's not alone in her pursuits. Anna is the sixth child in her family to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the LDS or "Mormon" church), she even has a brother finishing his 24 month mission (young men serve 2 years, young women 1.5 years) in Idaho right now! But she's the first female of the eight children to do it.
As you look through her photos, you may notice a few references to some of Anna's favorite plays, movies and musicals, as she adores theatre and music (i.e. Hamilton, Moana, and Cinderella). But mostly, you will see how much she loves her faith and how inviting she is as a person. She's literally a star--someone who radiates light and joy. I hope you love your choice to serve, Anna!
