Baby Wade Arrives!

As I think about the spring that is barely beginning to stretch it's legs here in Raleigh, NC, I think about baby Wade and wonder what he must think of life so far. It's challenging to grasp that such a small person has only lived as long as it takes me to get to cleaning my kitchen! He has so much to experience ahead of him, and so much love already in his life. What's truly impressive to me is how he's already so comfortable in the world! Seriously! Upon meeting with his family for photos, there were some brief nerves--everything is new to him, after all--but after some reinforcement and snuggles from Mommy, baby Wade became the most interested observer. Patient, pondering and ...of course, adorable. And he continued to stay that way throughout the entire session! I don't know who was more smitten over his steady, cooperative gaze--but it was probably still Mom and Dad.

His big brother and sister were equally as wonder-struck as they played with his tiny fingers, small even beside their own young digits. Baby Wade squirmed like budding blossoms on a dogwood tree and made us all laugh as the kids caressed his sweet belly or as Mommy held his toes.

But perhaps baby Wade cooed in such peace for reasons other than just careful swaddling and a deliciously quilted mattress. Maybe he loves life because coming into a new plane of existence is easy when you come into such an adoring family, so heart-warmed by the sheer fact that you're here. You're home. You're ours. We love you so much, and we can't wait to get to know you better.

Choose your love, love your choice.
