Tara + Nathan: Photo Editing - Raleigh, NC

Disclaimer to start out: I did NOT take these photos, I edited them at the request of the couple and here's why:
Picture this: you've just married the love of your life, the honeymoon is over and you're so excited to see your wedding photos, but then... The photographer 'ghosts' you completely. No contact, no returned messages, no response. Months go by and you begin to wonder if you need to file a missing persons report. Tara and Nathan literally waited years to get these wedding photos--two years to be exact. And in the end, getting them was a succession of miracles. As Tara told me, a couple bought a used car and was having some work done on it when they discovered a photo card hiding between some seats. The thoughtful people wanted to put it in the right hands, so they plugged it into their computer and were shocked to discover someone's wedding photos. Tara and Nathan's wedding photos.
The collection contained just enough information for this couple to find Tara and Nathan's wedding venue, who they contacted, and after double checking details, the couple made contact with Tara to give her the amazing news. Then the couple promised to mail the photo card a.s.a.p. and gave Tara a tracking number to ensure the photos wouldn't go missing again. But they did go missing again. The day the card was set to arrive, Tara was notified the package had been delivered. But there was no package delivered. Nothing in the mailbox, at the doorstep, or anywhere. After all this time spent waiting, it seemed the photos would stay missing after all. But mail is a funny thing, luckily, and after another lonnnnng, hopeless month, a package suddenly appeared with, you guessed it, the prodigal son of photo cards. Needless to say, there was mucho de rejoicing. Now, losing a whole card of photos is one of my recurring nightmares as a wedding photography services provider. And that seems to be what happened in this case. I can't know for sure, but I'm guessing this car belonged to the photographer or the rental car service they used the day of the wedding, and at some point the card fell out of a pocket or a card container and the photographer has been kicking themselves ever since, paralyzed by fear.
The idea of ever having to call one of my clients and tell them I have no photos of one of the most important days of their lives after I promised to provide them with a whole collection would be hugely daunting to me. That said, as a provider, it is absolutely my duty to make that call, as difficult and angry a call as it could be (And I will if (heaven forbid) that ever happens. *knocks on wood*). So...soapbox set aside... I am thrilled to have been asked to edit these photos, and to have time-traveled to your special day, Nathan and Tara. It felt like holding a long-awaited, highly-anticipated baby. A beautiful one. And I'm so glad these photos are finally yours to cherish. Belated Congratulations to you! Choose Your Love, Love Your Choice.
