Babies have kind of taken over the blog lately. :-) That's understandable if you've read our recent posts lately, OR considering that (fun fact) July marks the beginning of the most common time of year for babies to be born!
But that fact is waaaay cooler when some of your best friends are a part of the baby surge with you!
Last winter, my husband Stephen and I were sitting in church when our friends the Rockwoods told us they were going to have a baby (SO exciting!!!!) What they didn't know was we had just gotten home from telling all of our immediate family that we were expecting too! We started to laugh as we realized what the saltines in Justine's bag at our last game night and the ginger-ale we offered them at dinner truly meant, and then we laughed harder when we found out our due dates were literally two days apart and sandwiched around a full moon. (Another fun fact: there's a rumor more babies are born under the full moon...something about the tides or moon powers or the universe...or something like that).
Now, I'd be lying if I said pregnancy has been easy, and the Rockwoods would likely agree--finishing grad school or working full time, moving AND dealing with the symptoms of growing a whole extra human is no easy feat after all...and you guys should be congratulated! That being said, though, going through it with people you trust and admire, who Marco Polo you weekly just to ask how your last appointment went, or who go on walks with you nearly every other day for months, makes it almost...pleasant. A word I never thought I'd ever use about pregnancy.
So as we count down the days to Baby Rockwood's arrival, I'm delighted to share photos of some of the best (most beautiful) new parents of this year: Congratulations, again, Rockwood family, and thank you for being amazing humans and friends; your baby boy is incredibly lucky, and Stephen, Baby and I feel so lucky to have known you and to continue growing on this journey together.
